Orange River Rafting

Orange River Rafting. Explore the south of Namibia and join our team on the newly launched 5 day transfrontier rafting trail. Situated in the karas region of Namibia is our Base camp ‘Norotshama River Resort’. The region is known for the arid mountain desert namely the Richtersveld. Orange River Rafting is rated one of the best value for money adventure in Namibia. It is a fantastic outdoor adventure suitable for the whole family.

Our 5 Day Transfrontier rafting  trail will take us past the Fish River mouth towards Sendlingsdrift. The point where the Transfrontier parks meet at the ferry point. Transfrontier is a conservation initiative between two bordering countries. Namibia and South Africa have decided to share the conservation responsibility along the Orange river and Richtersveld.

One of the oldest mountain deserts in the world. The Richtersveld mountains are rugged and clearly show the signs of geological formations and volcanic activities. Filled with semi precious stones and rock formations. The orange river is the life within this harsh desert environment. The Transfrontier rafting trail is known as the route less paddled.

Our starting point at Norotshama River resorts overlooks the well known springbokvlakte. Departing from the vast open area we will enter a variety of mountain gorges and formations. Our orange river rafting adventure is full of action packed rapids and fast flowing confluences. The rapids are graded from level 1 to the highest being level 4. These levels change according to the water levels of the orange river.

Our experienced team will guide you along these rapids and islands filled with an abundance of birds. The River is known as a pool drop river and below most of the fast flowing sections you will find a pool and slow flowing area.

This makes the orange river one of the safest river rafting rivers in Africa and Namibia.
